Dickwella or Dikwella is a market town of Sri Lanka. It lies in its Southern Province in the district of Matara. It has a population of about 54,370. Dikwella is very well known for its Buddha Statue, Beach, Market and Peraheras. The Buddha statue is about 50 metres and the largest in Sri Lanka. The Dikwella market is held in the area every Saturday and is based alongside the beach. Dikwella beach is a long and sandy known for its swimming as it is very well protected.
